A quick and easy sheet pan dinner featuring tender salmon and perfectly roasted asparagus with bright lemon garlic flavor. Ready in under 25 minutes with minimal cleanup, this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound)
  • 2 large lemons
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line your sheet pan with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the asparagus: rinse, snap off woody ends, pat dry, and place on one side of the sheet pan.
  4. Prepare the salmon: pat fillets dry with paper towels and place on the other side of the sheet pan, skin-side down if they have skin.
  5. Make the lemon garlic mixture: in a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, juice of one lemon, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Drizzle and coat: pour about two-thirds of the mixture over the salmon, coating evenly. Drizzle remaining mixture over asparagus and toss gently to coat. Spread everything into an even layer.
  7. Add the lemon slices: slice the remaining lemon into thin rounds (about ¼-inch thick). Place a few slices on each salmon fillet and scatter the rest over the asparagus.
  8. Roast for 12-15 minutes, until salmon is opaque and flakes easily, and asparagus is tender with lightly browned edges.
  9. Rest for 2 minutes: remove pan from oven and let sit for a couple of minutes.
  10. Garnish and serve: sprinkle with fresh parsley and squeeze a roasted lemon slice over everything if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best browning. Watch garlic to prevent burning. Space ingredients out on pan to avoid steaming. Check doneness early; salmon continues cooking after removal. Use medium-to-thick asparagus spears for best results.
