These savory honey mustard glazed ham sliders feature a sticky, tangy glaze paired with melty cheese and tender ham wrapped in soft, pillowy slider buns. Perfect for parties and casual meals, they deliver a delightful sweet-sour zing and comforting texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1216 ounces thinly sliced deli ham
  • 68 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 12 soft slider buns (Hawaiian or Parker House rolls recommended)
  • 1/4 cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice slider buns horizontally in half, keeping them connected if possible. Place bottom halves cut side up in the baking dish.
  3. Layer thinly sliced ham evenly over the bottom buns, about 1 to 1.5 ounces per slider.
  4. Place a slice of Swiss or cheddar cheese over the ham, covering as much as possible.
  5. Replace the top bun halves and press gently to compact the sliders slightly.
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, melted butter, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  7. Pour the glaze evenly over the assembled sliders, covering tops and edges. Use a pastry brush or back of a spoon to spread glaze into all nooks and crannies.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil to keep sliders soft and moist.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes to melt cheese and allow glaze to soak into rolls.
  10. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5-7 minutes until glaze is bubbly and slightly caramelized on edges.
  11. Let sliders cool for 5 minutes before serving to help glaze set and make them easier to pull apart.

Notes

Covering the sliders with foil during baking keeps buns soft and prevents drying out. Use room temperature butter for a smooth glaze. Adjust glaze thickness by adding more mustard or a cornstarch slurry if glaze is too runny. For extra crisp, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch carefully to avoid burning. Sliders can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking; add extra baking time if baking cold.
