Ingredients

  • Freshly brewed pumpkin spice coffee (or your favorite blend)
  • Cinnamon sticks (for stirring and aroma)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • Vanilla syrup
  • Caramel sauce
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced or cubed
  • Brie or camembert cheese, cut into wedges
  • Gouda with smoked paprika
  • Marcona almonds or spiced pecans
  • Olives (green or black)
  • Crackers and breadsticks
  • Pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies or gingerbread men
  • Dark chocolate chunks or Halloween-themed chocolate candies
  • Dried cranberries or fresh apple slices
  • Mini candy pumpkins
  • Edible flowers or fresh herbs like rosemary sprigs
  • Halloween-themed napkins and small decorative props (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew 4 cups (about 32 fl oz) of pumpkin spice coffee or your preferred brew using a French press or drip coffee maker. Keep warm in a thermal carafe if possible.
  2. Lay out a large serving board or tray. Place small bowls or ramekins evenly spaced for syrups, whipped cream, nuts, and olives.
  3. Slice or cube the sharp cheddar and gouda. Cut the brie into wedges. Arrange cheeses strategically on the board, leaving space for other elements.
  4. Fill bowls with marcona almonds and olives. Place crackers and breadsticks in clusters around the cheeses for easy grabbing.
  5. Arrange pumpkin-shaped cookies, dark chocolate chunks, and dried cranberries or apple slices artistically. Scatter mini candy pumpkins and any edible flowers or herbs for decoration.
  6. Fill ramekins with mini marshmallows, whipped cream, vanilla syrup, and caramel sauce. Add cinnamon sticks for stirring and garnish.
  7. Double-check that everything is reachable and visually balanced. Add napkins and small spoons or tongs for serving.
  8. Serve at room temperature near your coffee setup so guests can help themselves to drinks and snacks.
  9. Keep an extra pot of coffee ready for refills and have warm milk or cream nearby for lattes.
  10. If pumpkin-shaped cookies soften, reheat them in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 3 minutes to crisp.

Notes

Take cheeses out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving to soften. Use the rule of threes for visual appeal. Buy pre-sliced cheeses and store-bought cookies to save time. Keep cookies separate until serving to avoid sogginess. Reheat cookies briefly if softened. Keep extra coffee and milk/cream ready for refills. Use plant-based cheese and coconut whipped cream for dairy-free or vegan versions.
