A quick and easy whipped cream cheese glaze perfect for sugar cookies, made with simple pantry staples and ready in just 5 minutes. This smooth, creamy glaze adds a tangy sweetness that elevates any cookie without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese and unsalted butter by leaving them out of the fridge for about 30 minutes to reach room temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and lump-free, about 2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar while mixing on low speed until fully incorporated and silky.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix on medium speed for 30 seconds.
  5. Add milk or heavy cream one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition, until glaze reaches a spreadable but not runny consistency.
  6. Give the glaze a final whip for about 20 seconds to make it extra fluffy.
  7. Spread the glaze evenly over cooled sugar cookies using a spatula or the back of a spoon.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese and butter for a smooth glaze. Sift powdered sugar to avoid lumps. Adjust milk slowly to get the perfect spreadable consistency. If glaze is too thick, add more milk; if too thin, add more powdered sugar. Best applied soon after making as it thickens when cooled.
