These Easy Mini Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze are quick, fresh, and flavorful party snacks made with cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes (about 300 g), washed and dried
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • About 20 fresh basil leaves, gently washed and patted dry
  • ¼ cup balsamic glaze (60 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (optional but recommended)
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks or mini bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves gently under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels to avoid soggy skewers. Drain the mozzarella balls well to prevent excess moisture.
  2. Place the tomatoes and mozzarella in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  3. Take a toothpick or mini skewer and thread one cherry tomato, followed by a basil leaf (fold it if large), and then a mozzarella ball. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Use a spoon or squeeze bottle to drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers.
  5. Optionally, lightly sprinkle chopped fresh basil or a pinch of flaky sea salt over the top before serving.

Notes

Drain mozzarella well to avoid soggy skewers. Drizzle balsamic glaze just before serving to keep skewers fresh. Bamboo picks with flat ends hold ingredients better. Can be grilled for 1-2 minutes per side for smoky flavor.
