A fun and easy Halloween snack featuring hotdogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, baked to crispy perfection with playful mustard or ketchup eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hotdogs (beef, pork, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (about 8 oz or 226g)
  • Mustard or ketchup for eyes
  • Baking spray or melted butter for greasing
  • Optional: cheese slices or shredded cheese
  • Optional: garlic powder or smoked paprika
  • Optional: vegetarian hotdogs or sliced veggies (bell pepper, zucchini)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat and lightly grease with baking spray or melted butter.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Slice each triangle into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
  3. Cut hotdogs in half (or thirds for smaller bites).
  4. Wrap each hotdog piece loosely with crescent dough strips, leaving gaps to resemble mummy bandages.
  5. Place wrapped hotdogs on prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until dough is golden and crispy and hotdogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  8. Use a toothpick or small spoon to dot mustard or ketchup for mummy eyes.

Notes

Do not wrap hotdogs too tightly to allow dough to crisp. Use thin strips about 1/4 inch wide for best texture. Space mummies on baking sheet to avoid sogginess. Add cheese thinly to avoid soggy dough. For extra crispiness, broil 1-2 minutes at end, watching closely. Chill dough 5 minutes if sticky. Apply eyes after baking to prevent burning or running.
