Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s RedHot recommended)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar preferred)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 can (8 oz / 226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough (Pillsbury recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for crust)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Arrange triangles in a circle on the baking sheet with wide ends overlapping slightly to form a ring, leaving a hole in the center, pointed ends facing outward.
  4. Spoon buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the wide ends of the crescent dough, keeping about half an inch from the edges.
  5. Fold pointed ends over the filling, tucking under the wide ends to seal. Pinch seams gently to avoid leaks.
  6. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush generously over the crescent ring.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until dough is puffed, golden brown, and filling is hot and bubbly.
  8. While baking, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, crumbled blue cheese, softened cream cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  9. Let the baked ring cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving plate. Serve warm with blue cheese dip.

Notes

Keep crescent dough cold until ready to use for easier shaping. Rotate baking sheet halfway through baking for even browning. If filling is too saucy, add extra shredded cheese or cooked rice to absorb moisture. Soften cream cheese before mixing dip to avoid lumps. Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking. Leftovers reheat best in toaster or regular oven to maintain crispiness.
