A rich, spicy, and creamy buffalo chicken dip made effortlessly in the slow cooker, perfect for game day or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie or leftover baked chicken)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional: 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles

Instructions

  1. Shred cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces, about 3 cups.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in shredded chicken and shredded sharp cheddar cheese until fully coated.
  4. Transfer mixture to slow cooker, spreading evenly. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Stir halfway through cooking to meld flavors and ensure even melting.
  6. When hot, bubbly, and cheese is melted, garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

If dip is too thick after cooking, stir in a splash of milk or additional ranch dressing to loosen. For a golden crust, transfer to an oven-safe dish and broil 3-5 minutes before serving. Use softened cream cheese for smooth mixing. Stir halfway through cooking to prevent uneven texture. Can be made in oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes as an alternative.
