A quick and easy party snack featuring cocktail-sized smoked sausages wrapped in crispy bacon and glazed with tangy BBQ sauce. Perfect for gatherings, these smoky-sweet bites are crowd-pleasers that combine juicy smokies with caramelized bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) little smokies (cocktail-sized smoked sausages)
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Optional: dash of smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Cut each slice of bacon in half crosswise.
  3. Wrap each little smokie with a half slice of bacon, tucking the end underneath to secure.
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped smokies seam-side down on the wire rack or directly on the foil-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder, black pepper, and brown sugar evenly over the smokies.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  7. Brush each smokie with BBQ sauce using a spoon or brush.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until bacon is crispy and caramelized and the BBQ sauce is sticky and glossy.
  9. Optionally, brush on a second layer of BBQ sauce before removing from the oven for extra glaze.
  10. Let the smokies cool slightly for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a wire rack to allow bacon to crisp evenly and avoid soggy spots. If bacon browns too fast, tent loosely with foil halfway through baking. For gluten-free, verify BBQ sauce label. For lower sugar, substitute brown sugar with honey or maple syrup. Can be cooked in an air fryer at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway. Leftovers reheat well in skillet or oven.
