These ham sliders combine sweet Hawaiian rolls, savory deli ham, melty Swiss cheese, and a buttery brown sugar glaze for a quick, crowd-pleasing snack perfect for parties or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a whole.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Add the Swiss cheese slices over the ham layer.
  5. Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls back on and press gently but firmly.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  7. Use a basting brush to spread the glaze evenly over the top and sides of the rolls.
  8. If using, sprinkle poppy seeds evenly over the glazed top.
  9. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until tops are golden and bubbly.
  11. Remove from oven and let the sliders rest for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

If edges brown too fast, tent foil loosely to prevent burning. Let sliders rest after baking to allow cheese to set for easier slicing. For gluten-free, use gluten-free Hawaiian-style rolls. Can swap cheeses or meats for variations. Avoid microwaving leftovers to prevent soggy rolls; reheat in oven instead.
